How do I connect my Sencrop weather station?

In Agromanager, you can connect various types of weather stations and sensors through the AWS Platform (Agromanager Weather Station). This article explains how to connect a Sencrop weather station to your Agromanager environment.

 

Step 1 - Request a connection in Sencrop

To access the data from your Sencrop weather station, you must first create a connection between Agromanager and Sencrop in your Sencrop account.

Log in to your Sencrop account. Then go to Menu - Integrations & Partners and search for Agromanager.

 

Next, create the connection with Agromanager.

Once the connection has been created, click More details. You will see an overview of the available stations. You will need this information later in Step 6. This is important when linking the weather stations in Agromanager, as the system must know which weather station should be used to retrieve weather data for the different crops. 

 

Step 2 - Open the AWS Platform

Log in to your Agromanager environment. Then click the Applications tile in the menu on the left.


Next, click the AWS application. If the application is not immediately visible, first select All Applications and use the search bar at the top of the page to search for “AWS”.

 

Step 3 - Add a weather station

After opening AWS, you will see an overview of all weather stations linked to your email address. By default, an OpenWeather station is already linked to your Agromanager environment.

To connect your Sencrop weather station to Agromanager, click the green New button in the top-right corner.

 

Step 4 - Create the sensor platform - General information

To connect the station, first enter the following basic information under General:

  • Name: Enter the name of the weather station.
  • Owner email: Enter your email address.
  • Interval: Select 24 h.
  • Time zone: Select the time zone in which the weather station is located.
  • Brand: Select Sencrop.
  • Interface: Select Sencrop - Agromanager Partner.
  • Address (optional): Enter the address of the weather station or company.
  • Postal code (optional): Enter the postal code of the weather station or company.
  • City (optional): Enter the city in which the weather station or company is located.
  • Country (optional): Enter the country in which the weather station is located.

Once all information has been entered correctly, click the green Next button at the bottom of the page.

Step 5 - Create the sensor platform - Interface

In this step, you will be asked to enter the Sencrop device owner email. Enter the email address you use for your Sencrop account.

Then click Next.

 

 

Step 6 - Create the sensor platform - External

In this step, you will see an overview of the available weather stations. Select the weather station you want to add and click Next.

Step 7 - Create the sensor platform - Access

Select the Agromanager environment to which you want to link the weather station. Once you have done this, click the green Save button in the top-right corner.

Your weather station is now connected to Agromanager!

 

Step 8 - Link the sensors

Before weather data can be transferred to Agromanager, the available sensors from the weather station must be linked to the correct reading types.

To do this, click the orange Edit button in the top-right corner.

Then open the Link Sensors section. Link the correct reading type to each available sensor from your weather station. Once all sensors have been linked, click the green Save button in the top-right corner.

Important!

By default, four parameters are retrieved from the Sencrop base station: 

  • Wet-bulb temperature 
  • Relative humidity 
  • Precipitation 
  • Temperature 

If a leaf wetness sensor or an anemometer is connected to the Sencrop base station, you can also link the data from these sensors to Agromanager.

  • Wind speed: Windspeed
  • Leaf wetness: leafwetness1

It may take some time before the first data becomes visible. Please note that historical weather data is not transferred retroactively to your Agromanager environment. The weather station will start transferring weather data from the day on which the connection is established.
