Help, my printer is having problems!

Unfortunately, it can sometimes happen that a label printer causes problems while printing the harvest labels. If this is the case, feel free to call our support department if you are using an Agromanager label printer. We will help you as quickly as possible! One of the topics below may also help you in case of urgency.

1 - I cannot find my printer

If you cannot select your printer from the list in the print preview while printing labels, check the following:

  • Check whether the printer is switched on; a light should be on
  • Check whether all cables are properly connected
  • Check whether the USB port of your computer is defective by plugging the printer’s USB cable into another USB port on your computer

If the printer is still not visible after checking the points above, restart both the computer and the printer. In many cases, this works wonders.

2 - Documents remain stuck in the print queue

First check the print queue

Open Settings on your computer and search for Printers and scanners.

Select the printer you are trying to print with and then click Open print queue.

If you see documents or labels here that are not being printed, cancel these jobs via the three dots (...) at the top right.

Then restart both the computer and the printer. Completely switch off the printer and disconnect it from the power supply for a few seconds.

Restart the Print Spooler

If the problem persists, the printer driver or the Windows print service may have crashed. In that case, you can restart the Print Spooler.

Open the Start menu, search for Services and open the application.

Search the list of services for Print Spooler.

Select Print Spooler and click Restart the service on the left.

The Windows print service will now be restarted. Print jobs that are still in the queue will then be sent to the printer again.

Disable printer status checking for Zebra printers

If this problem regularly occurs with a Zebra printer, it may be caused by the status check of the Zebra driver. This setting can cause the printer driver to crash and print jobs to remain stuck in the queue.

You can disable this status check via the printer settings.

Open Printers and scanners again, select the relevant Zebra printer and open the Printer properties.

Then open the Driver settings tab.

On the left-hand side, choose Settings.

Scroll down until you see the Printer status section.

Under Status check type, choose Disabled.

Then click Apply and then OK to save the setting.

Attention: this setting may be reset when the printer is disconnected from the computer while the printer is still switched on. This can also happen when you plug the printer’s USB cable into another USB port on the computer.

Therefore, preferably switch off the printer before disconnecting the USB cable. Also always use the same USB port to prevent Windows from installing the printer again as a new device.

3 - My Agromanager labels are not printed correctly.

If labels are not printed correctly, it is important to check the printer settings for the print size. To do this, go to Settings on your computer -> search for Printers & Scanners -> open the relevant printer -> click Printing preferences. The screen below will open.

Settings for harvest labels:

Make sure the width and height are set to 102 * 102 mm and that Labels with gaps is selected as the media type.

Then click Print options in the menu on the left. Check whether the settings are configured as shown in the photo below. Make sure that the Margins are set to 0!

Settings for pallet labels:

Make sure the width and height are set to 102 * 150 mm and that Labels with gaps is selected as the media type.

Then click Print options in the menu on the left. Check whether the settings are configured as shown in the photo below. Make sure that the Margins are set to 0!

Settings for colli labels:

Make sure the width and height are set to 57 * 20 mm and that Labels with gaps is selected as the media type.

Then click Print options in the menu on the left. Check whether the settings are configured as shown in the photo below. Make sure that the Margins are set to 0!

4 - The printer prints blank labels

If blank labels are printed, first check the printer settings described above in point 2. If these are correct, then check whether the printer sensor has shifted. For the standard colli, pallet and harvest labels, the sensor must be positioned in the middle of the printer. See the photo below:

Sensor

If you have checked the settings and the sensor and blank labels are still being printed, you can calibrate the printer:

  1. Press and hold the pause button and the X button, the outer buttons, at the same time and wait until the printer responds (+- 2-3 sec)
  2. The printer feeds 1 label => the calibration is now complete.
