How do I create a new cultivation and draw it on the map?

Requirement

Before applying these steps, you first need to add a field or a greenhouse.

More information can be found here

Step 1 - Open the Crop module

Open one of the following packs in Agromanager to access the Crop module.

  • Spray Log
  • GPS
  • Harvest
  • Time Registration

Then click on Crop in the left-hand menu, after which several options will appear.

Step 2 - Open the Crop overview

In the overview located under Crop, you will find the Overview button. Clicking this button opens the screen with an overview of all your crops.

Step 3 - Add a new Crop

At the top right of the crop list, you will find the green New button. Click on it. If you have both fields and greenhouses, you will need to choose where the new crop will be created.

In the pop-up screen, select the correct field/greenhouse and crop. Depending on the crop, you can select the associated planting system and then click Next.

Step 4 - Fill in general information

Before entering all information, first fill in a Crop Name. This name clearly indicates which crop it concerns and is linked to a Crop No.. This number is automatically assigned by the program.

Under Planting date, enter the date when the crop was planted and the Planting system will automatically be filled in based on the previous pop-up selection.

Step 5 - Draw the crop on the map

It is important that you first draw your crop on the field. Mark the corner points by clicking with the left mouse button.
Do this in a (counter-)clockwise direction! You can move a point by clicking and holding it with the left mouse button and dragging the mouse to the correct position.

On the right side of your screen, the Gross area is automatically calculated, but this can be adjusted manually. You can remove points by clicking the red Delete last point button.

Useful tip!

You can also indicate separate rows. Below you will find an example of what this could look like.
Follow the numbers to draw in the correct order.

Step 6 - Fill in crop data

The criteria are linked to the planting system and the crop. Therefore, you will not always see all criteria.

You will see 3 tabs where you can choose how you want to enter your data: area, meter or number of trees/plants. You only need to fill in 1 tab, not all 3!

Depending on which tab you selected, you will need to fill in some of the parameters below:

  • Net area: The area of your crop only.
  • Gross area: The net area together with the headlands.
  • Path width: The distance from the center of one row to the center of the next row.
  • Number/meter: The number of plants per meter.
  • Total running meters: The total length of a row expressed in meters.
  • Total number of plants: The total number of plants present in the crop (number/meter x running meters).
  • Row path width: Distance from the center of one row to the center of the next row.
  • Plant distance: Distance between 2 trees along the row.
  • Grass strip width: The width of the grass strip of 1 row.
  • Buffer zone or crop-free zone: The buffer zone/crop-free zone is an untreated strip of land near a water surface.
  • Spray factor: Value between 0-100%. This is the ratio of the height of the tree compared to the total height of the sprayer.
  • Row system: The number of tree rows per black strip.

Then fill in the Crop Data section.
Here too, the criteria depend on the crop and the planting system.

Step 7 - Fill in certification

Here you can indicate certifications. Do this by clicking the checkbox next to the certification.

Step 8 - Fill in the main crop

Select the correct variety of the selected crop. The system automatically calculates the number of plants for this variety.

Step 9 - Fill in pollinators

If pollinators are present in the crop, you can add them using the add button.

Here you also indicate whether they take up space in the planting row. If you selected "yes", the number of plants in the main crop will be reduced by the added pollinators.

Step 10 - Save the crop

Once all data has been entered correctly, you can click Save at the bottom of the screen under field data.
